Dead Friends Forever Back in Production

Last September, Grimm Sleeper Productions invaded the small town of Mingo Junction, Ohio to film scenes for its zombie short, Dead Friends Forever. The shoot was one of the largest-scale the company has attempted and went very well - so well, in fact, that after completing the shoot, the team decided to expand "Dead Friends" into a feature. The project went into a brief hiatus as the existing footage was assembled in a very rough cut to determine what else to add to the story and how best to expand it.

Next month, production will rev up once more as the cast and crew will begin filming this new material. New locations are currently being scouted and locked down and new characters are being cast as the new script scenes will further explore how the outbreak began and the relationship between Serenity "Ren" Emons, her sister Charity, and the film's antagonist, James Cormac. At least one new role has already been cast with more to come.

New and Future Projects

In addition to "Dead Friends" getting back into production, two new projects have been announced on the Grimm Sleeper Productions Facebook page.

Darken With my Shadow is a period short that explores a night horror faced by two Civil War soldiers near the Bloody Angle in 1864. When a Union deserter saves a wounded Confederate soldier, the two are forced to rely on each other to survive a night that descends into pure terror. Themes of brotherhood, the horrors of war, and what makes someone a monster lie at the heard of the film. The short was written and will be directed by Joshua D. Maley.

A Place of Sorrow is also a period piece, set in Utah in the 1880s. The story follows Eleanor Dixon and her daughters as they are forced to make a treacherous journey south after being forced from their home. Hoping to stay with her late husband's father, they find his modest home empty and the land seemingly besieged by unnatural forces. The feature will explore themes of family, legacy, and forgiveness.
